These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the services provided by Amanda Butler Veterinary Physiotherapy ("we", "our", "us"). By booking an appointment or using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Service Description
Amanda Butler Veterinary Physiotherapy provides mobile veterinary physiotherapy services for equine and small animal patients in Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and surrounding areas. Our services include:
- Physiotherapy assessment and treatment
- Rehabilitation programmes
- Exercise prescription
- Management advice
3. Veterinary Referral
In accordance with The Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, a veterinary referral is required before any physiotherapy treatment can commence. This ensures that:
- Your animal has been properly diagnosed by a qualified veterinary surgeon
- Physiotherapy is an appropriate treatment option
- We have access to relevant medical history
- Treatment is coordinated with your veterinary practice
We cannot provide treatment without valid veterinary consent. It is your responsibility to obtain this referral prior to your appointment.
4. Bookings and Appointments
Making a Booking
Appointments can be booked by phone, email, or through our website contact form. We will confirm your appointment time and date via email or phone.
Preparation for Appointment
Please ensure:
- Your animal is available and ready for assessment at the agreed time
- For horses: a safe, flat area is available for assessment and treatment
- For small animals: a quiet space is available where your pet feels comfortable
- You or a responsible adult is present throughout the appointment
- You have relevant information about your animal's condition and medical history
5. Cancellations and Rescheduling
We understand that circumstances can change. However, please note:
- 48 hours notice: We request at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling
- Late cancellations: Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the appointment cost
- No-shows: Failure to be available for a scheduled appointment without prior notice will result in the full appointment fee being charged
We reserve the right to waive cancellation fees in exceptional circumstances (e.g., veterinary emergencies).
6. Pricing and Payment
Current Prices
- Equine physiotherapy: £65 per session (60-90 minutes)
- Canine/Feline physiotherapy: £55 per session (60-90 minutes)
- Travel fees apply for distances over 10-15 miles from SA61
Payment Terms
- Payment is due on the day of treatment
- We accept cash, bank transfer, and card payments
- Block bookings or multiple animals may qualify for discounted rates – please enquire
Price Changes
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. However, any price quoted at the time of booking will be honoured for that appointment.
7. Treatment and Care
Assessment and Treatment
Each session includes a thorough assessment and treatment tailored to your animal's individual needs. Following treatment:
- A written report will be provided to you and your veterinarian
- An exercise prescription or home care plan may be provided
- Recommendations for follow-up sessions will be discussed
- A rest period (typically 24-48 hours) may be advised
Your Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your animal's health and medical history
- Follow the exercise prescription and advice provided
- Inform us of any changes in your animal's condition
- Ensure your animal's welfare during and after treatment
- Notify us if you have any concerns following treatment
8. Liability and Insurance
Amanda Butler Veterinary Physiotherapy holds professional indemnity insurance through Balens Insurance and is a member of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP).
Limitations
- We are not veterinary surgeons and do not provide diagnoses
- Physiotherapy treatment carries inherent risks, which will be discussed with you
- We are not liable for any adverse reactions or complications that may arise despite appropriate care
- We are not responsible for injuries sustained by animals or handlers during treatment if safety instructions are not followed
Your Insurance
We recommend that you have appropriate insurance for your animal. We are happy to provide reports for insurance claims upon request.
9. Confidentiality and Records
All client and patient information is kept confidential in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Treatment records will be:
- Stored securely
- Shared only with your veterinary practice or as required by law
- Retained for a minimum of 7 years
- Available to you upon request
10. Photographs and Testimonials
With your consent, we may take photographs or videos during treatment for:
- Medical records and assessment purposes
- Educational purposes
- Marketing and social media (only with explicit written consent)
You have the right to refuse photography or withdraw consent at any time.

13. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control (e.g., severe weather, illness, vehicle breakdown, pandemic restrictions).

We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
